研究背景
HGH 研究プロファイル
Human growth hormone, or somatotropin, is a full-length protein reference used to study direct growth hormone receptor activation. Research examines JAK2 and STAT signaling, IGF-1 expression, protein and lipid metabolism, cell growth, endocrine feedback, and tissue-specific receptor responses. It differs fundamentally from GHRH analogs and ghrelin-receptor secretagogues, which act upstream to stimulate endogenous GH release in experimental systems. HGH is selected when the project requires the hormone itself as the signaling input or comparator. The extensive clinical and biological literature on regulated pharmaceutical somatropin does not establish the identity, approval status, sterility, or suitability of a separate research-use product.
想定される機序
Binds the growth-hormone receptor, causing receptor dimer rearrangement and activation of JAK2-STAT, MAPK, and PI3K-AKT signaling. It also induces IGF-1 production, especially in the liver, and directly influences lipid, carbohydrate, and protein metabolism.
研究で報告された作用
- Cell and human studies report increased IGF-1, protein synthesis, nitrogen retention, lipolysis, and changes in body composition.
- Growth-hormone signaling can reduce insulin sensitivity and increase glucose, fluid retention, tissue growth, and other dose-related systemic effects.
- Long-term or excessive exposure is associated with edema, arthralgia, carpal-tunnel symptoms, glucose intolerance, and growth-related risks.
一般的な研究エンドポイント
Growth-hormone receptor phosphorylation, JAK2-STAT signaling, IGF-1 and binding proteins, nitrogen balance, protein synthesis, lipolysis, glucose and insulin, fluid balance, and tissue growth.
エビデンスと限界
Growth-hormone biology and regulated pharmaceutical use are extensively characterized. A research-use catalog item is not represented as an approved somatropin product.
