How to Review a Certificate of Analysis

A certificate of analysis is a document associated with a tested material or lot. Review the named material, lot or sample identifier, test method, reported result, test date, laboratory identity, and any limitations stated on the document.
Match the lot
A certificate is useful only when its identifying information can be matched to the supplied material. Contact support if the product page document and delivered lot do not align.
Understand the scope
A COA reports the tests shown on that document. It does not by itself establish sterility, suitability for a particular experiment, regulatory approval, or safety or effectiveness in humans or animals.
